Scouts and Guides

At St. Mary’s, we have a full range of uniformed groups for both the scouting and guiding movements. The groups meet in the community hall, attached to the church.

The Guide Association Units and the Scout Group maintain and run a 17 seater Mini Bus (all drivers have received training). They take part in lots of fundraising events in order to support this.

Rainbows meet on Fridays at 5pm.

Brownies meet on Fridays at 6:15pm.

Guides meet on Fridays at 7:30pm.

Beavers meet on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.

Cubs meet on Mondays at 6pm.

Scouts meet on Mondays at 7:30pm.

At St. Michael’s,  we have groups for Rainbows and Brownies, meeting in Church House (behind the church).

Rainbows meet on Wednesdays at 5pm.

Brownies meet on Tuesdays at 6pm.

All of the groups have dedicated leaders who find working with these units very rewarding and enjoyable. However, there is a constant need for leaders and unfortunately, if there are not enough leaders, units may have to close. Please pray for the young people and leaders.

The children work towards a variety of badges and enjoy playing games and taking part in a wide range of activities during meetings. There are also day trips and, for the older children, camping activities.
