Our Saturday Recitals are an opportunity to listen to some of the finest student musicians in the world.
Refreshments are available from 10:50am with the performances starting at 11am. Entry to our recitals is free.
Throughout the year, we see a varied programme of classical and modern music showcasing the best of the world’s talent. The standard of music is consistently amazing and includes performances from piano, flutes, violins, French horns, organ, classical guitar, singing, and more. We are very lucky at St. Michael’s to have superb acoustics which means that the sounds from the musicians fill the building allowing you to be immersed in the music.
Many of our performers are award and competition winners – both in the UK and around the world. Their studies have taken them to many grand venues, but each one is still a student of music, and this is a fantastic opportunity to see them “before they were famous”.
June 2017 saw the Saturday Recitals celebrate their second anniversary. In the two years since their commencement in June 2015, almost one hundred different musicians have featured in the 45 minute time slots. The audience is usually about 30 strong, once reaching a peak of 60, and are dedicated attendees. Another landmark was hit on 2nd December 2017, as on this date was our 100th recital!
Our recitals take place at St. Michael’s Church, High Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 4PG.
