At St. Michael’s and St. Mary’s we want to make everyone feel welcome and safe. To help with this, we have a Vulnerable Adult Coordinator and Child Protection Officer (Safeguarding Officer). These roles include looking out for those who may need support and being available to speak to about any issues or concerns you may have.
Every volunteer who helps with children, youth work and vulnerable adults has to complete DBS checks. Regular vulnerable adult and child protection training for those on these teams must also be completed.
We are committed to a child protection and vulnerable adults policy in line with the Canterbury Diocese. This is reviewed annually by the PCC. Our Diocesian policies can be viewed via their website, or by clicking on Promoting a Safer Church, Protecting All God’s Children and Promoting a Safe Church.
If you have a safeguarding concern within our parish, please do contact our Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Coordinator (Safeguarding Officer) or a Churchwarden.
Safeguarding Officer: Roxane Lee-Affonso firstname.lastname@example.org
