Sundays 10am Holy Communion at St. Michael’s (with Little Saints)
St. Michael’s is a beautiful sacred space where we offer our liturgical worship with the help of a robed choir and ministers, using hymns, anthems and the words from Common Worship.
Most Sundays, during Communion, our prayer ministry team is in St. John’s chapel to pray with people confidentially for healing and wholeness.
During term time, Little Saints takes place during the 10am service. Children start with their families in the main service for the first hymn and the Welcome before Little Saints starts in Church House (the hall behind the church). There are themed activities which help the children learn more about God before returning to the service to join their families for communion.
All children (including babies and toddlers) are welcome in our services. We have Busy Bags available, which you are welcome to make use of, and space for parents at the back to take younger children, if they wish, where there are some toys, books and activity sheets.
After the service you are welcome to join us for tea, coffee and biscuits in the south transept.
10.30am Holy Communion/Morning Prayer (Wednesdays)
For this service we gather in the beautiful chancel to worship. It is a said Holy Communion.
On occasion, we will instead say Morning Prayer. This is from the Book of Common Prayer, hearing and reflecting on the readings for the day.
5:30pm Evening Prayer (Thursdays)
This is a short Evening Prayer service, using Common Worship, incense and plainsong chants.
We give thanks for the day, pray the Psalms, listen for God’s word in Scripture, and pray together for the church, the world, and this parish.
6.30pm Choral Evensong (2nd Sunday of every month)
On the second Sunday of the month, Choral Evensong is sung by our choir, which enables us to draw upon the riches of the Anglican choral tradition for our hymns and anthems.
We use The Book of Common Prayer Evensong service.
There is a short reflection on the readings, and a sung Vesper to close the day.
10am Morning Prayer Group (3rd Thursday of every month)
Prayers are said for our church and community.
